There have been a number of changes to the European Organic standards recently, some of which further restrict certain types of ingredients. These include sources of trace elements and the use of vitamins for ruminants.

As a result of this, we can no longer supply many of our blocks for use on organic farms.

HOWEVER:

We can now offer three products fully approved for use in organic systems without the need to apply for a derogation. These products have been fully pre-approved by OF&G as meeting the requirements of the organic standards.

The products are "ECOBLOCK", based on our successful Zincmin Block, and ECOBLOCK EXTRA, based on our equally popular Coppodine Block. And now we can also offer our "ECOMAG BLOCK", based on our longstanding Mag Block, for helping to prevent magnesium deficiency.

We intend to continue supplying these approved products for as long as the Standards permit part of the feed input to come from non-organic sources. However, at present it is thought that the new standards to be introduced in 2007 will not allow the use of non-organic feeds. It is impossible to economically source certain feeds such as molasses from organic sources, so if this allowance is dropped it will be difficult for us, and other supplement manufacturers, to be able to offer a proper balanced mineral supplement for use on organic farms.
